Kirsten King • Hazel/Land Lady/Ensemble
Kirsten was the Associate Choreographer of Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom The Musical. Preceding this, she became Associate Choreographer of King Kong The Musical (both Global Creatures).
Kirsten was an original cast member of the Australasian tour of Mary Poppins (Disney Australia), as Dance Captain and later became Resident Choreographer. She was also Dance Captain and an original cast member of We Will Rock You, touring Australia and Japan (Louise Withers & Assoc.). For The ProductionCompany, Kirsten assisted Michael Ralph on West Side Story. She assisted Andrew Hallsworth and Dean Bryant on The Producers.
Kirsten played Helene in Sweet Charity and performed in How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Anything Goes and The Music Man. Other credits include understudying and performing the role of Thelma O’Keefe in Shout! The Legend of the Wild One, Happy Days The Arena Musical, and The Wizard of Oz (GFO/SEL). Kirsten choreographed 42nd Street (Dir. Gary Young) and Urinetown (Dir. Alister Smith) for VCA music theatre students.
Recently, Kirsten worked with Hugh Jackman, Andy Lee (of Hamish and Andy) and Warren Carlyle (director and choreographer) on Hugh Jackman: Broadway to Oz.
